Description

On the shore of a lake, “Baby” is found with the body of a young woman without a head. Investigator Viktor Kamenev takes the case, trying to understand who the victim was and what made the killer choose such a brutal way of killing. Each new clue does not clarify the picture—it only multiplies the mysteries—until the investigation takes a personal turn: in his own apartment, Kamenev discovers a terrifying “package”—on the kitchen table are the victim’s head and a warning letter. Among the dead he recognizes Rita Gromova, the daughter of his former friend, whom Viktor believes is guilty of his wife’s death. Now Kamenev must find out what Rita’s case will lead to and why a man from the past has to answer for old sins at such a monstrous cost.
