Polina Kazakova, known in town as Miss Robin Hood, learns that her childhood friend Yulian has given birth to a baby. Unfortunately—a dead one! Polina visits Yulian and hears strange things—supposedly the newborn is alive and well, but nobody knows where she is. It’s probably that the poor girl isn’t entirely in her right mind from grief. However, soon Polina is forced to believe this turn of events. Two medical certificates convince Kazakova: one states in black and white that Yulian had no intrauterine infection and is capable of giving birth to a healthy baby. And the other, issued at the maternity hospital, claims the infection did exist, and the mother, hiding the dangerous diagnosis, is to blame for the death of her own child… Hopeless? Not for Miss Robin Hood!
