Description
The author is a Slovenian who switched in 1915 from the Austro-Hungarian army to the Russian side. At first, he became an officer in the Serbian Volunteer Division; then he fought the Bolsheviks in the ranks of the Kornilov Regiment. He sets out the goals of the White movement and the reasons for its defeat. Saved from execution by Serbs who fought on the side of the Reds, he remained in the USSR. Working as a doctor, he witnessed how Soviet power was destroying Russia, wiping out its culture, the Church, and the peasantry. In 1934–1935, already in Yugoslavia, he writes his memoirs, first fully published in this book.
