In the book “Varangian Sea” are described bloody battles, fierce warriors, betrayals, and intrigues. The action takes place in 1060, during the decline of the Vikings and the beginning of the era of chivalry. The prince Gotschalk unites the tribes of the Polabian Slavs; pirates from Rügen are famous on the Varangian Sea; Harald the Severe fights the Danes; and William the Norman dreams of the English throne. All these events will inevitably change the history of England, Norway, and the Polabian Slavs—and into this whirlwind will be drawn the main character, Roman Samsonov.
