The work You Never Even Dreamed begins with a description of the first school bell at a newly built school and ends with an eleventh-grade student jumping from the third floor. A vivid and lively depiction of the relationships between classmates, their parents, and teachers, in which the blossoming of that rare feeling—love—is described, crafted by former Russian language teacher and now celebrated writer Galina Shcherbakova. Unfortunately, those in love tend to regard the rest of humanity rather selfishly, and Galina Shcherbakova masterfully illustrates this in her novella, giving readers much to reflect upon.
