In the Murom Forests and Other Tales

Count Evgeny Andreyevich Salias was one of the most prolific Russian writers: the collection of his works comprises thirty-three volumes, and statistical data from zemstvo libraries of the late 19th century show that at that time Count Salias was also the most in-demand and widely read author in Russia. Salias entered the history of the criminal novel as the creator of novels and novellas united by a common series, “The Raiders.” The novellas “The Don Hispanoids” and “In the Murron Forests,” the audio versions of which are presented in this collection, are also included in this “raider” series.
