Thirty-Three Misfortunes and a Little Luck

Alas, moving to another city doesn’t always mean the start of a new life. Sometimes a visit from old friends brings with it a whole chain of misfortunes that, it seems, will never end.

That’s what happened this time. So many troubles suddenly fell on me that you could grab your head! Mysterious robbers on a night road, an enraged ghost who wants to burn me for non-existent sins, and then my beloved husband brought home some lady with an extremely shameless appearance… Did I forget anything in listing my misfortunes? Oh yes—and of course, a visit from my mother-in-law, who unexpectedly admitted that she sent me a deadly curse. What’s the matter—she just confused me with someone else. As if that could excuse her act!

Oh, if only I could get just a little luck! After all, a black streak can’t last forever…
