Mileva Einstein's Theory of Sadness

Mileva Einstein's Theory of Sadness

Description
In her youth, talented mathematician Mileva Marich gave up her own scientific ambitions to devote herself to her husband — Albert Einstein. On the eve of the First World War, she receives a letter from an already famous scientist containing a humiliating list of demands on which he is willing to “save” their marriage, leaving her with a painful choice: to submit or take the sons and leave Berlin, going into the unknown. Croatian writer and journalist Slavena Drakulić tells the story of a woman whose fate was cast in the shadow of a great man. Based on documents and genuine correspondence, the novel sheds new light on the personal side of the life of the person who changed ideas about space and time — but above all it restores the voice of the one who loved, supported, endured, and resisted — and who was so easily erased from memory.
