Since childhood, Japanese student Kai Minagawa has had the gift of seeing what is hidden from ordinary people. Hoping to rest and start a calm life, he comes to his aunt in foggy English Witsbury, dreaming at last of thinking only about school. But instead of quiet, he encounters a mysterious phenomenon—an Illusion (Phantasm). On the very first day, Kai meets Lance Fairlong, a closed-off red-haired boy who calls himself an employee of a secret bureau investigating supernatural cases and anomalies. Lance is sure that once you’ve seen another world, you can no longer pretend it isn’t there. When the Phantasms begin to get out of control, Kai and Lance have to team up to figure out what’s happening. Will they be able to cooperate, and what is really hiding behind the curtain of Witsbury’s fog?
