“The Spiral of Time” is a science-fiction novel in two books by the Soviet writer Georgy Martynov. Date of first publication: 1966, publisher “Lenizdat.”
A strange ancient manuscript falls into the hands of scientists by chance. It speaks of strange people who appeared on Earth many centuries ago. Soon the scientists find a chamber—clearly of extraterrestrial origin—made of a metal unknown on Earth. They assume that it contains either documents left behind by the aliens or the aliens themselves, “traveling” through time.
The novel by Georgy Martynov is devoted to uncovering the mystery of the aliens, establishing contact with intelligent beings on other planets.
