A professional exterminator of the unclean, Seth Slooter, nicknamed the Bastard, is an outcast—even in his own clan. There’s a saying about him: “No one comes to ask Seth for help of their own free will—all are pushed from behind by the dead.” The illustrator has misrepresented the truth, depicting Seth as some kind of refined, delicate fellow. Seth is huge, mighty, brutal, bold, and cunning. He can deal with any creature or entity in all sorts of ways—even with those who don’t even know what “life” and “death” mean. He’ll annihilate them, send them back into other realities, and if it comes to that, he’ll beat them thoroughly. Of course, if everything were always that simple, this story wouldn’t have any point…
