The new audiobook by N. I. Basovskaya is dedicated to real figures of English kings of the 15th century who became the heroes of historical chronicles and the tragedies of W. Shakespeare. From the standpoint of a historian, the author aims to explain the keen interest of the young Shakespeare in the personalities and fates of Henry IV and Henry V of the Lancaster dynasty and Richard III of the House of York. According to N. I. Basovskaya, in these historical figures we can see the origins of the images of the future heroes of the best tragedies of the brilliant Shakespeare.

For many years, Natalya Basovskaya’s main scholarly interests were connected with research into international relations in Western Europe of the 12th–15th centuries. In recent years, Natalya Ivanovna has paid great attention to education in the field of historical knowledge: the program “Everything is like this” on the Echo of Moscow radio station, lectures in the project “Academy” on the Culture TV channel.
