Futa the ginger cat from the café at the border of worlds sets off to a mountain guest house: there, people await him whom he must deliver messages from those who are no longer nearby. But a sudden blizzard turns the house into a trap: the roads are buried, there’s no connection to the outside world, and everyone has to wait out the bad weather together. Futa, captivated by detective stories, becomes suspicious: could ancient secrets, unfinished confessions, and grudges be hiding behind this chance meeting? While the snow muffles everything around him, he tries to understand what unites the guests—and to find a way to reach each of them, so that the important messages still reach their addressees.
A gentle continuation of the beloved magical story in the spirit of Miyazaki’s tales—about how even in the harshest blizzard you can find warmth, and how the right words, with the help of a clever cat, will surely reach the ones they’re meant for.
