In Los Angeles, seven young people vanish in a single day, each of whom had unsuccessfully tried out for the TV show “The Very Best.” Lieutenant Clara Redfield barely begins the investigation when the missing are found: they have become participants in another game — “Stay Alive,” broadcast on the Internet. The players do not suspect their fate: whoever is eliminated gets a bullet in the forehead instead of fame and popularity. And it is the viewers who decide who lives and who dies. The parents of the “contestants,” along with millions of other Americans, watch as their children die. The webcam records one death, then a second, then a third… Will anyone be able to put an end to this?
