Stories 9: The Scent of Ptomaines

The craft literary magazine “Stories” is a unique project where tales by Russian-speaking authors are framed by drawings from contemporary digital artists. The stories themselves are selected by an editorial team alongside the magazine’s target readership group, made up of its readers. This ensures the maximum quality and level of the works.

In the ninth issue of “Stories,” you’ll find dark tales that seem to give off deceptive warmth, like the tempting light from an electric bug zapper. These are stories about strange and dreadful creatures that can’t break through to us—and so lure us to follow them; about people and unimaginable situations they end up in, for the amusement of demons. An issue in the horror and suspense genre, gently opening a door into the afterlife. Feel it. The scent of… perhaps “poti-mains”? A cozy veil of death. A dark moment of realizing that everything is the end.
