Elena Petrovna Blavatsky is a writer and traveler. Much of E. P. Blavatsky’s work took place in the USA, England, and India. Her main writings were produced in English.

Some authors note in E. P. Blavatsky the ability of “clairvoyance,” as well as “mediumship,” but regarding the latter, E. P. Blavatsky herself claimed she possessed abilities of a different kind (not mediumistic).

In Russia, letters by E. P. Blavatsky about her travels—titled “From the Caves and Recesses of Hindostan” and “The Tribes of the Blue Mountains”—were published under the pseudonym “Radda-Bay.” In them, Blavatsky demonstrated significant literary talent.

In 1888, she wrote her main work, “The Secret Doctrine,” which has the subtitle: “A Synthesis of Science, Religion, and Philosophy.”
