The novel “Burning Needles” is written in the genre of space combat science fiction. The action takes place in the universe of “Asteroid City,” which includes the station “Techtranzyt 218,” lost in space. The inhabitants have nicknamed it “Luckless”—and rightly so. The station was built in the busy part of space, but over time it ended up out in the sticks. Work is miserable, life is dull and monotonous; making a career is almost impossible.
The main character, Timofey Gradskiy, is an orphan. He barely makes ends meet, surviving on small jobs. His only friend is the artificial intelligence “Leo.” But one day a map lands in Tim’s hands—showing treasures lost in space. On “Luckless,” you can’t earn money for a space ship honestly. So Tim decides to become a gros—an hunter of escaped criminals and, at the same time, their executioner. And for that, you need serious preparation. Besides, corruption has soaked the station through and through, which doesn’t help anyone succeed. Will Tim manage to carry out his plan? You’ll find out by listening to the audio version of the novel.
