Edith Nesbit (1858–1924) is a famous British writer, prose author, and poet, the creator of many novels—some of which have been adapted for film. We present, in an audio format, one of her popular fantasy short novels. Five children played in a sandy quarry and met an amazing creature that calls itself Psammid. The creature promised to grant each of their wishes—one per day—on condition that at the end of the day what they wished for would turn to stone.
