A shrewd American journalist, inclined to collect the oddities of life, interviews a society celebrity—the Count Mariyak—and at the same time meets four friends of the count. Together they astonish the journalist tremendously, and when he accepts their invitation to dine with them in the hope of a curious conversation, he really learns some incredible secret from each of them.
