Three-year-old Wengie does not speak and barely reacts to people. Her foster parents are worried: the girl seems detached, and they begin to suspect autism. But the reason is different — Wengie is busy watching the "ghosts": countless versions of herself in an infinite number of parallel universes.
When a tornado destroys their trailer and the girl suffers mortal injuries, Wengie, in desperation, transfers herself to another branch of reality — one where she survives, but her foster parents die. From that moment begins a life full of moves from one foster family to another, training her gift of finding alternate worlds and making jumps to rewrite fate — while also hiding from adults who want to use her abilities for their own benefit.
For a long time, Wengie does not come into contact with her avatars, until one day the "Council" comes to her — a gathering of Wengies from different realities. They report an approaching threat in the multiverse: a man named Massive. And so an epic confrontation unfolds, spanning millennia and worlds — a battle for power over the fate of all existence.
