Ghosts of the White Continent

In the novella "Ghosts of the White Continent" (1962), participants in Antarctic expeditions encounter inhabitants of Pluto who have flown to Earth to mine uranium. The Plutonians are very different from humans, and contact with them initially unfolds tragically, but eventually the inhabitants of the Solar System find a common language, and two Earthlings set off for Pluto. In 1969, a filmstrip of the same name based on the novella was released.
