The Ghost with the Swastika

As they retreat under the pressure of Soviet forces, the fascists haul away the looted goods from occupied territories by railcars. One such train, sent from Lower Silesia, disappears without a trace somewhere along the way. Soviet counterintelligence finds out about it. The missing gold is entrusted to a SMERSH unit led by Captain Pavel Verest.

During the investigation, it is discovered that the train left without guards and wasn’t subjected to нападение or bombing along the route. There is hope that the cargo is intact. Verest follows the “golden” train’s trail and accidentally finds an old side track leading into the mountains. What happened next, an experienced officer who had been through the war couldn’t even imagine in his worst nightmare…
