In the modern city of Great Gustavsburg, inexplicable things are happening. In some neighborhoods, human aggression rises; brutal attacks and merciless murders occur. The police are left with their hands up—specialists believe it’s just a chain of coincidences with nothing to do with anything else. The city continues to consume itself, surrounded by all-consuming hopelessness—until the population notices yet another string of strange coincidences. Explosions rock some rooftops, and shortly after, in the area where the blast happened, attacks on people stop. Residents remember that both before and after the explosions they saw a strange black shadow on a roof. It moved at incredible speed. It seemed to be a young guy, with only one thing bothering: he had an extremely long braid on his head. People gave this shadow the nickname “Ghost Roofer” and unanimously elevated him to the status of a superhero. The police, however, don’t believe in miracles; they open a criminal case suspecting terrorist acts. The elusive Ghost Roofer is assigned to be caught by a young and talented policeman—Robert, whose surname and nickname are “Ermine” (Horstof).
