The Privalov Millions

"Privatov’s Millions" is a novel by Dmitry Narkisovich Mamin-Sibiryaк, written in 1883. One of the writer’s most significant works. The plot is based on real events from the life of industrial Urals in the 19th century. The depth and artistic power with which the victorious march of capitalism, bourgeois relationships that exclude any moral norms—are depicted in the novel—are astonishing. The author set out to show Russia as it moves along the path of capitalism, and did it for the first time.
