"Proceed to Liquidation" is a novella by Eduard Khrutsky from the series of works about Ivan Alexandrovich Danilov, head of the Anti-Banditry Department of the Moscow Criminal Investigation Department, and his colleagues.
The action unfolds in 1943 in Moscow and Leningrad. During a shootout with the police, a petty criminal is killed. Unraveling this case, the MCD officers pick up the trail of a particularly dangerous gang engaged in forging food ration cards, using them to steal food, and then exchanging the food for works of art in besieged Leningrad. In addition, the gang carries out raids on food shops in Moscow.
