Crime and Punishment is the highest example of a criminal novel. Within the genre of a police investigation, the writer posed questions that remain unresolved to this day. What should a person be: “a trembling creature,” as Raskolnikov says, or “a Napoleon”? And this is a problem of the 21st century already. Written in 1866, the novel “Crime and Punishment” still remains the most widely read book in the world and is included in most school literature curricula.
