Demons pursued the famous artist Vrubel almost his entire life. Demons on the canvas, demons in the soul— and for all the drawn monsters and beautiful angels, there were living eyes of his only beloved, Emilia Prahovа—a woman whose love, in the literal sense, drove him mad and destroyed the artistic genius… On the eve of an exhibition, a young talented artist, Mikhail Verbitsky, slashed all his paintings, and then died of a drug overdose. His older brother, Stas, doesn’t believe in sudden madness or death from drugs. Too many questions this death left behind. Why did only a copy of the famous Vrubel “Demon Overthrown” survive among all the artist’s paintings? And was it by chance that Mikhail’s body lay in a pose exactly matching the Demon’s pose?..
