The Last Wordsmith. Broken Shackles

Abyerni, Audulfs, and Arnvids are the three most powerful First Houses, descended from giant beasts. They were created by the god Sayem to influence the world of mortals through them. But the Ancient God did not foresee that a primal fury would take control of them, and that their strength would become a threat to the natural balance.

Then Sayem chose among people the worthy and granted them the ability to subdue the First Houses—at the cost of his own life. Thus the Vegards were born, guardians of the Earth.

For centuries, they were bound by an endless chain of sacrifices and reincarnations. Until, beneath a freezing northern wind, the paths of the First Abyerna and the last Vegarda crossed. They dared to reject what was foretold and tried to save one another by tearing apart their bloody bonds. But can a single maimed soul stand against the gods? After all, the ancient writings warn:
“And until the descendants of the Great Three Houses are born—those whose veins run with the blood of the First Beasts—Vegards will have no peace. They are doomed to eternal torment and death.”
