Planet of Rain

On distant Jupiteria there is no such thing as day: the planet is shrouded in eternal darkness, and endless rain falls from the sky. A scientific expedition is sent there—and almost immediately it goes missing from communication. Only after eight months comes the long-awaited signal, but instead of explanations it brings a new riddle: the message says that one of the scientists has been murdered.

Investigation is assigned to the detective Semyon Sorokin. Stepping into the wet darkness of an alien world, he quickly notices that something is wrong at the scientific settlement. On Jupiteria, events occur that have no place in scientific theories or in common sense. And the longer Sorokin stays on the planet, the clearer he understands: local secrets are far more terrifying than the scientist’s death itself.

Because that signal was sent by nobody.
