Stas survived and returned home. He managed to visit not only the Root and the Connected worlds, but also to meet the residents of the Secret City—about them on Earth only legends remain, yet they have been guarding the zone of connection for thousands of years. The zone leads not just to the Root world, but to a world that is the Node point connecting several Root branches.
But by sheer coincidence, Stas derailed many other people’s plans and set off a chain of events that drew the attention of ancient beings. As a consequence, they are now looking for him, and Stas has to start hiding, getting lost across the vastness of the Root worlds.

After writing the first one, I thought I might rename the series to “Connection.” The title of the book is “Turncoat,” though that’s not final either. In the publisher, the book will be split into two parts. That’s why I renamed the title here to 2. Turncoat. 3. Ruler. The next book in the series will come out under #4.
