The novella “Boyhood” is the second part of Leo Tolstoy’s great trilogy “Childhood. Boyhood. Youth.” The entire trilogy is built on comparing a person’s outer and inner worlds. As in all his works, Tolstoy analyzed the essence of a human being, and he did it masterfully. At the same time, despite their common thread throughout the trilogy, each part can be studied separately, enjoying the charms of each stage of young Nikolenyka’s life.
