Omar Sy. Autobiography

“This book is a simple thing: everyone will read into it what they want,” says Omar Sy. It’s a kind of diary created together with journalist Elsa Viguero.

The book is compiled from interviews and personal conversations between Omar Sy and the French journalist and co-author Elsa Viguero.

Over three years of work, Elsa flew to different parts of the world to meet Omar in person, and also spoke with him by phone and via messengers.

Their conversations took place without any заранее written plan or prepared questions: a spontaneous exchange of thoughts, a lively dialogue, and an attempt to build trust.

As Elsa notes, the result was a diary in which the actor, for the first time, speaks in detail about the difficult growing up in a family of immigrants, the long road to recognition in cinema, and shares reflections on friendship and love.

Omar himself views the project philosophically: “this book is a simple thing: everyone will read into it what they want.”
