For two hundred years, the lands surrounding the kingdom of Heldenberg have known no thaw—they are held captive by eternal ice. According to legend, only the blood of a mortal woman who became the wife of an ice demon—whose heart is as cold as the domains he rules—can keep winter from ultimately sealing the very kingdom as well.

The demon chose my sister as his wife, but I’ve decided to take her place and take the blow upon myself. I don’t care that I’m only mortal and he is a ruthless lord of ice: I’m not going to surrender without a fight.
