Don't Wait for Me Long

Don't Wait for Me Long

6 hrs. 4 min.
A film festival of documentary cinema brings directors, journalists, and critics to the seaside city of Svetlaya Gavan. But a typhoon ruins all plans… and reveals masks. In the hotel room, the film’s director of “The Last Voyage of the Oceanida” is found dead.

Anna Sterkhova, a writer and experienced investigator, arrives in the city as a jury member, but very soon she is drawn into the investigation. There are many mysterious riddles in the case. A ghost oceanographic ship that disappeared in the 1990s. Mysterious coordinates encrypted on a scrap of paper. Film footage that was cut out right before the screening. And a phrase frozen between life and death: “Don’t wait for me for long.”

Each name in this case is a key. Each word is evidence. Behind the peaceful facade of the festival lies death and lies. Sterkhova continues following the trail. Forgotten crimes are waiting for their time and remind themselves to those who hoped to forget them. But the closer the solution gets, the clearer it becomes: the culprit will do anything to keep the truth from coming to the surface.

The novel “Don’t Wait for Me for Long” is a detective story with an atmosphere of mystery, the sea, and other people’s secrets.
