Little Nicolas

The book "Little Nicolas" tells about a little French schoolboy. Here Nicolas is at school, among his friends, and then he is returning home carrying a present for his mother’s birthday: a huge bouquet of flowers, as big as he is. Never mind that from the enormous bouquet only a single broken flower remains. Mother understood how dearly that flower had cost. And Nicolas, too, felt that all his friends—teasers and fighters though they were—were still very good boys, always ready to help and come to the rescue...
