Inspector Roderick Alleyn—an aristocrat, an intellectual, and the best detective of Scotland Yard—at first glance became interested in the painter Agatha Troy. Unfortunately, his second meeting with this witty woman took place under rather unpleasant circumstances.
During a master class held by Agatha at her country house, a model is murdered, and the main suspect—painter and sculptor Garcia—vanishes without a trace.
