An epic collection of legends, tales, and fairy stories of the peoples of the Caucasus.
The book carries the reader into the world of the Nart epic, highlanders’ customs, and ancient wisdom carefully preserved and passed down from generation to generation.
Open the door to a place where stones hold memories of feats, mountains guard their secrets, and the word “honor” thunders louder than any storm in the gorges.
“Legends of the Caucasus” is more than just a selection of stories. It is a living voice of ancient auls, an echo of Nart tales, and the inheritance of the ancestors that has reached us through the centuries. On these pages you will meet celebrated highlanders whose might is akin to an untamed element; beauties capable of charming even the bravest jigit; and wise men whose teachings remain relevant to this day.
The book helps you see the worldview of the peoples of the North Caucasus, get to know their traditions and beliefs, and gain a deeper understanding of the region’s culture.
