USSR, the late 1980s. Major of the militia Andrey Petrov arrives in a remote Nizhny Lesovsk, where people disappear without a trace—and the police pretend nothing is happening. The textile mill “Red Thread” is a hotbed of schemes: the management is tied up in corruption, and something sinister is going on in the local forest.
All leads point to the Dead Lake, which keeps a secret that people are ready to kill for. The closer Petrov gets to the truth, the fewer chances he has to return alive.
