The veteran detective is too honest and too cynical. He didn’t flatter his bosses and didn’t climb the career ladder. Over decades of service he managed to acquire only an ulcer and a cramped apartment on the outskirts of the city. His wife left him, unable to compete with work.
In a fight with a criminal, Andrey dies—but fate gives him a second chance. The major’s consciousness is transferred to the distant year 1978, into the body of an ordinary Soviet high school student who is about to enter a medical institute.
All roads are open. You can live a different life. But Andrey chooses the path of a police officer again—this time, without mistakes and defeats. Only it turns out that getting into the police during stagnation times isn’t so simple.
And somewhere nearby lives a ten-year-old boy whose hand is what killed him in 2022.
