After the death, the Russian Federation Air Force (VKS) military pilot Oleg Severov ends up in the past. He is young and healthy again, but “it’s spring of 1941”—soon the Great Patriotic War will begin, and he has orders for an fighter aviation regiment stationed in Western Ukraine. His chances of surviving the horrible “meat grinder” of the first weeks of the war are slim…

The knowledge and experience he accumulated in his previous life allow Severov not only to successfully stand up to the vaunted “experts” of the Luftwaffe, but also to change history, piece by piece. Soon he becomes a squadron commander, and the pilots under his command—because of their success fighting the invaders—are, along with the command and combat comrades, called “immortals.”
