This collection of unique audio recordings of famous Ukrainian writers was published for the 17th anniversary of Ukrainian independence. The audio edition includes selected poetic works performed by their authors: Maksym Rylsky's "Roses and Grapes", Mykola Bazhan's "Night Reflections of an Old Master", Volodymyr Sosiura's "When the Train Rumbles into the Distance", Andriy Malyshko's "Motherland", Platon Voronko's "Near, Dreamy, Slender", Oles Honchar's "Thoughts about the Motherland", Mykola Vinhranovskyi's "I Love Two Seasons in You", Vasyl Stus's "Learn to Wait, Friend", Marko Kropyvnytsky reading Taras Shevchenko's poem "My Thoughts" and others. Most recordings are from the archives of Ukrainian Radio, the rest from private archives. The oldest, featuring the voice of Marko Kropyvnytsky, dates to 1906, the most recent to 1995…
