Since school years, Ivan Romanov became interested in historical reenactment thanks to his neighbor and senior friend—an interest that later influenced his choice of higher education, even though the young man grew up in a family of an engineer and a linguist. After finishing a history degree, he went into science and earned a Candidate of Historical Sciences degree. At the University, on his father’s advice, he finished a military department. In 2022, during a mobilization, he was sent to the SVO zone as a platoon commander. A year later, he died in one of the combat operations.
