This book is devoted to how the image of Jesus Christ is revealed in the Gospel of John. Like the other Evangelists, John appears above all as a witness to the events he speaks about. At the same time, this testimony is of a special kind: it contains not merely a narration of events, but also their theological interpretation. The uniqueness of the Fourth Gospel is determined by the fact that its author is Jesus’ beloved disciple—one who followed Him throughout the entire path of His public ministry up to the cross and Resurrection. The book considers those parts of the Gospel of John that provide original material and do not duplicate the Synoptic Gospels. The author shows how, throughout the Fourth Gospel, the image of Jesus Christ—God Incarnate—unfolds.
