Chronicles of Kalenar: False Time

What is an adventurer’s life made of? Someone will say it’s adventures and secrets, someone will mention women and wine that await you upon returning from an expedition, while for others it’s an eternally aching back and dirt. But most of the time it’s searching.

First, you look for lost places, then for artifacts, and then for idiots willing to pay a couple coins for trinkets from a long-gone past.

But what happens if one day, returning to your hometown, you discover that the residents have fallen into a stupor? Friends tremble at the name of an unknown mysterious Emperor, the history of past times has been erased from the minds of the adherents of the new world, and anyone who remembers the “wrong time” is ready to tear you apart on the spot.

Instead of answers, fate throws the adventurer into the thick of events. He is brought before the Emperor and given a task—to find an artifact capable of changing the fate of an entire world. But should he carry out the assignment? And most importantly, is there any choice?
