Burn, Witch, Burn!

“Burn, Witch, Burn” is Abraham Merritt’s fantasy novel. In Russian, it was also published under the title “Devilish Dolls of Madame Mendilip.” It is the first book in the “Doctor Lowell” cycle. Genres: fantasy, mysticism, horror, detective. Perhaps one of the best specimens of horror fiction in the style of the “gangster wars” era. The novel begins with the visit of the head of a gangster syndicate to Dr. Lowell, a neurosurgeon. A whole chain of strange deaths turns out to be the trail of a witch settled in the city—she creates miniature copies of living people and transfers the souls of the originals into them. Lowell and Ricori begin a secret war against the terrifying dolls and their creator.
