Yevgeny Astakhov is a popular science-fiction writer and the author of several novel cycles. We present, in audiobook format, one of his most famous literary projects— the “Conjugation” series. It starts with the novel “The Ranger.”

The main hero is an ordinary guy who fled to the USA from criminal trouble and lives and works calmly on his ranch. But then something unexpected happens: planet Earth is included in the Conjugation, and as a result, among Earth’s people appears a multitude of alien beings—far from friendly. The hero can defend himself, but he is forced to adapt to this new reality. Now he receives tasks from the system, each one more difficult and dangerous than the last.

In the end, the hero realizes this is only the beginning of a long journey, in which he will have to prove that he’s not “made of straw,” and that his enemies should regret becoming such. Details are in the audiobook.
