No one understood how our contemporary, a reserve officer and history teacher, ended up in his own past. Once again in the body of a seven-year-old boy. And once again in the times of triumphant developed socialism, when, as our hero remembered, there seemed to be an order of magnitude more joy and happiness all around.
That is true, but from an adult’s point of view, in the sunny country called “Childhood,” it turns out that not everything is as ideal as memory once suggested. It turns out that here, too, there is meanness and greed. There are thieves, bandits, and swindlers of every kind too, though as a child you simply did not notice them before. And now something has to be done about it. It is simply necessary to fight it, because evil knows no barriers in time. And enemies appear again within sight. Cruel and treacherous. Clever and merciless. Moreover, some of them strongly remind our hero of someone.
Thus the seven-year-old hero with two higher educations, combat officer experience, and a memory scorched by the wild post-perestroika years begins his little war, taking as an ally none other than… the Committee for State Security of the USSR. And unexpectedly finds new friends there. The kind of friends for whom one might risk one’s life!
