The Stone Throne is a gigantic chair of stone, from which the god Lug himself once surveyed the Green Isles under his rule. But now the Stone Throne is free, and at its foot a struggle rages: foreign intruders and local natives, ordinary people and immortal inhabitants of the Other World fight for possession of the islands. At the steps of the Stone Throne stand Bjarni, the former son of a slave woman and now the grandson of King Miad, and Thorfard the konung, to whom Bjarni must seek revenge for the death of his brothers. It seemed that on the Green Isles Bjarni had achieved everything—fame, honors, military victories, the love of beautiful women. And it is precisely at the moment when he is already placing his foot on the step of the sacred throne that the time comes to answer himself: was this what he wanted? Or was it what he sought beyond the seas—and even then was it already with him?
