This time we’re introduced to the Cherrill family—closely connected by kinship ties to the Foresights. The Cherrills belong to an old English house for whom even in the era of change and uncertainty such notions as duty, traditions, and honesty are not empty words. This is especially dear to the young Elizabeth Cherrill, or “Dinny,” for whom family is the meaning of existence. So when her brother faces trial on a false charge of murder, and her cousin is in mortal danger, Dinny does everything she can to save them.
