The novel is based on real events in Irish history and contains elements of legends. Gormlat, the widow of the old king of Dublin, and her brother—a descendant of the Fomorians—are ready to take revenge on their eternal enemy. To do so, Gormlat must help her son take the throne of Dublin, or choose freedom and love for him. Fowla, also a descendant of the legendary Tuatha Dé Danann, fears human cruelty, but agrees to help her sister, risking his life. This captivating and ruthless fantasy is the first part of the series “The Gaelic Song.”
